A story about pask

I was convinced that she had been in my 43Peeps list for quite a while now, while I just realized in horror that I hadn’t added her!

Why I admire Lotte Joyce

It takes guts to be tempted by the pairing “aubergines and cocoa”, and this young lady must have lots of them.
And her main pic should win a “Cutest avatar of the year” award.
Plus, she’s extremely funny and witty. But you already knew that, I guess…

Why I want to meet Paola

because she can cook “aubergine and cocoa”...then there are a lot of other reasons but not tasty as this one.

Why Paola should want to meet me

When (If?) I read Eco’s Il pendolo di Foucault, she should want to meet me to ask what I thought. Paola should also want to meet me because both of us can recognize Greek miniscule. Also, I tend to be a good time.

A question I have about Martin Scorsese

Am I really the only one wanting to meet him?!

A story about Umberto Eco

Mr. Eco is famous for his understatement, and for his subtle “piedmontese” humour: he wrote for years a column on the magazine L’Espresso analyzing Italian quirks and habits through his peculiar pop-semiological lense. Even his masterpiece, Il nome della rosa, portrayed the utterly tragic period of Italian terrorism behind the story of the cracking clerical power in the Middle Ages, and the hectic alternation of heresies and repression.

But the very idea of other 5 years under a Berlusconi-led government are too much even for his sense of humour and for his erudite love of witty metaphors and non direct references: here you can find his call to Italians, for next month’s political elections (sorry, only in Italian). Here’s the incipit:
“We are facing a dramatic appointment”.

When even Umberto Eco is not having fun anymore, it’s time to get really worried.

Why I want to meet Josh Petersen

No wonder the Robots made such an impressive job with 43T and the other sites of the network: Josh is one of the few who appreciates the connection between punk and traditional food. Pity for those of you who can’t see it!

A story about Paolo

When I first read him (first months of 2005, I guess) I made the very narrow-minded assumption that he was an Italian student in UK (well, there’s a reason why Romans aren’t ruling the world anymore, isn’t it?). I’m so happy I don’t have to envy him so ferociously anymore for such a beautiful and witty and cultivated prose—mind you, I still envy it, but not so ferociously :)

Why I want to meet MarieStardust

She’s deep and funny, and gentle and blunt, and reading her witty entries is always a pleasure. Maybe someday in Paris with nobodysperfect?

Why I want to meet nobodysperfect

Because she’s funny in the cutest self-deprecating way ever, and I can’t wait to read her screenplay! (not that she ever promised to let me do that, but I’m officially asking now) :)
